Attribute Effectiveness

Each ball has one or two attributes, but only one Attacking Attribute is used when launching an attack.

The Attacking Attribute is the ball's primary attribute, shown first in its profile.

That attribute is compared against the defender's type(s) using the Attribute Chart above, which determines how Combat Power (CP) is affected.

Example showing how the primary attacking attribute is displayed first in a character's profile

⬆ Strong
The attacking attribute is Strong against at least one of the defender's attributes, and not Weak against the other.
CP is increased, scaling with the attacker's Attack Proficiency.

⬇ Weak
The attacking attribute is Weak against at least one of the defender's attributes, and not Strong against the other.
CP is reduced, scaling with the defender's Defense Proficiency.

— Neutral
The attacking attribute is Strong against one attribute and Weak against the other, or Neutral against both.
CP remains unchanged.

Note: Secondary attributes do not affect attack effectiveness.

What Is a Synergy?

A Synergy forms when two adjacent balls connect their Directional Links and have compatible attributes. When active, both balls gain a defensive bonus equal to the balls combined Synergy Proficiency.

Directional Links

Each ball randomly gets assigned Directional Links when recruited based on its rarity and type:

  • Links can point in 8 possible directions and a ball has between 1-6 Directional Links, with Common balls having 1 link, uncommon having 2, all the way up to mythics having 6.
  • Each Directional Link is randomly assigned one of the Ball's types.

You can find a ball's Directional Links in the ball's profile in "My Balls"

Synergy Activation

Map view showing multiple character balls with connecting lines indicating active synergies between adjacent balls

A Synergy activates when all conditions are met:

  1. Balls are adjacent
  2. Their Links point at each other
  3. Their types are compatible

You can assess synergies in the deployment menu in the "Synergy tab" where you will find the Synergy Matrix:

  • Inner layer: the ball's own Directional Links
  • Outer layer: incoming Directional Links from adjacent balls
  • Chains: show possible or active synergies
